What are immutable folders?

Immutable folders are folders with stricter behavior designed to preserve a curated queue. They’re useful for playlists or structured learning paths where you don’t want automation to move items out of the folder unexpectedly.

Immutable folders tutorial: step by step

1. Pick the folder you want to protect

Choose a folder that represents a curated series, a playlist-like queue, or a long-running learning path you want to keep intact.

2. Open the folder configuration modal

In the Qefy web app, open the folder configuration/settings for that folder. This is where folder-level behaviors (like YouTube sync and immutability) are configured.

3. Enable “Immutable folder”

Turn on the Immutable Folder toggle. From this point on, Qefy treats that folder as protected so automated “move to done” behaviors won’t drain it unintentionally during playback workflows.

4. Use playback with confidence

When you play through items (especially via the extension autoplay flow), the immutable folder stays structurally stable so you can revisit it without losing your curated list.
